County Maps: Westmoreland, Allegheny

Description: Brush Creek is surprisingly pleasant; it flows through or past numerous communities and shares a valley with State Route 993 and a Norfolk Southern mainline. These are evident, but lush vegetation keeps the towns, highway, and railroad at bay. The unavoidable railroad bridges are old stone structures that add a class touch to the run. There are also two loops where the run escapes local civilization. [Reported 1997]
